God redeemed my soul from
hell on September 25th, 1988 in the First Baptist
Church of Ira, Texas. God sure is good! God called me to
preach and I surrendered on October 5th, 1997
here at Faith Baptist Church. I graduated high school in
1999 and joined the U.S. Army. Jonah took a boat to Joppa
and I tried to run to Uncle Sam. While in the service I
married my wife Amy who had been my best friend and fellow
servant for the Lord in the youth department at Faith
Baptist Church.
I spent three years in the
service stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. There I spent a
year and half underneath Pastor Steve Shebs at Cornerstone
Baptist Church in Leesville, Louisiana. I might have tried
to run from God but God put me where I needed to be, in a
church with a Bible Institute and with a pastor whose desire
was to train men of God to preach the Word of God. After my
service time in 2002 was over God laid on my heart to go
back home to Lubbock and serve underneath my pastor.
Since returning to Faith in
2002 God has truly worked in my life. God sent a man to
Faith Baptist Church whose love for the Lord and His people
have inspired me to walk closer to God and submit my life to
His service daily. Our pastor has taught me that serving in
the ministry is not a job, it is a lifestyle. I truly
believe that pastors train pastors to be pastors, and I
thank God daily that he has sent a man of God to train me
for the Lord’s work. I am training vigorously through life
learning and education to become the preacher that God has
called me to be. My hearts desire is to serve the Lord
faithfully here at Faith and prepare myself for the ministry
that God has put before me. I hope to complete my degree in
the next two years and continue here on staff as long as the
Lord will allow.
Faith Baptist Church is home
to me. Here God called me to His divine ministry. He
allowed me to meet the love of my life and has blessed me
with three beautiful children. The Lord has brought victory
in my life over cancer while increasing my faith. I thank
God that he has allowed me to serve and learn daily
underneath a man who truly loves the Lord. Faith Baptist
Church is not only a place where you get the opportunity to
serve and praise the Lord, it is a place where you can call
home and be apart of the family of God. You are always
invited to attend our services here at Faith. I pray that
if it is God’s will, you too will experience what God has
allowed me to here at Faith Baptist Church.
