Temple Baptist University Bible College and Seminary was founded in the fall of 1980 at Slidell, Louisiana by Doctor Ron Ostten during his pastorate at Slidell Baptist Temple. TBU is now located in Wynne, Arkansas under the authority of the Smith Chapel Baptist Church. Temple Baptist University is a Baptist university that seeks to train men and women for the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. The University has several colleges under its leadership. The colleges are Temple Baptist Bible College & Seminary; American Baptist College and Seminary International, and Temple Bible College & Seminary. The External program, Local Church Program, we believe, will fulfill the need of training students where they are located without moving them away from their local churches. We believe that the local CHURCH is the teaching and training agent which God has set up in this dispensation; therefore the University is geared to help the students where they are living and working. The University also will help set up extension colleges under the local Baptist Churches.
